Injury reports.

The Cubs have had there share of injuries this spring, so lets check them out-

Derosa- Irregular heart beat- expected to be back in the lineup within a week.

Jose Ascanio- Bruised face- Back with team and playing.

Felix Pie- Twisted testicle- OUCH!!! Back with team and playing.

Ward- Sore back- Could be back in lineup within next couple days.

Aram- Sore shoulder- Resume baseball activities in next couple days.

Soriano- Non-displaced fracture of the tip of his right middle finger- Resume baseball activities in 3 to 5 days. In lineup within the week.

None of these seem serious which is a relief!

Twisted testicle? What? How did that happen?

The Sori broken finger worries me a little. He does like to swing a heavy bat. Is it his throwing hand?

Have no idea how the twisted testicle happened but Sori should be fine. It is on his right hand but he should be fine within 3 to 5 days. He has even said it has happened before.

Nothing to worry about.

Will the team try to lock up another left handed bat for the bench in case Ward has more injuries this year?

hey i just saw in chicago trib live, that the orioles want pie and ceda in the deal, in return the cubs would get roberts and sherril ( left handed reliever) and then the cubs would then offer marshall and another player to boston for crisp.... hear anthing about that?

stain66,

I did not get a chance to check out CTL but that is an intresting idea. I have no problem giving up Ceda but not Pie. I honestly think the O's have enough outfield depth especially with Jones in CF. I do not see way the O's would want Pie and why the Cubs would give him up for Roberts and Sherrill along with two other prospects. It is an intresting thought tho.

EL Gigante,

I see the Cubs going with what they have off the bench. If Ward goes down we have Hoffpauier that could fill in or they could bring up Fontanoe, Epatt, or Fuld if he goes out. There is really no need for another lefty pinch hitter.
