Jones for Jennings?

According to Fox Sports-

The Cubs have discussed acquiring Rockies right-hander Jason Jennings for right fielder Jacque Jones, who would play center in Colorado. Such a move could lead to the Cubs' signing of free agent Julio Lugo to play center. Alfonso Soriano presumably would play left, and the Cubs would need to figure out right.
The Cubs have maintained interest in signing Lugo to a multi-year deal even while increasing their pursuit of starting pitchers. Lugo likely would return to the infield in 2008 to clear a spot for top outfield prospect Felix Pie. The Cubs have an option on shortstop Cesar Izturis for '08. Second baseman Mark DeRosa, who recently signed a three-year deal, can play other positions
.

I have a strong feeling that Murton will be in our oufield next season, but i guess sports writers dont consider him an everyday player.. Jennings would be a good fit for Jones and a pitcher like marshall or guzman but none of our good prospects like veal, hill, or pie etc... Its good Hendry has alot of intrest in different players, i like the multi-tasking!

Although I am as worried about keeping Jones in right as the next guy, I hesitate giving him away without another solid left handed bat in the line-up.

Thats one of my concerns also, in addition to jones i think we would need another lefty anyways... but if we do trade him my vote is for lofton in center, murton/floyd in right, and Soriano in left.

I know this won't be a popular thought, but if the Cubs are intent on keeping Murton, an idea I highly endorse, and if Jones is still with us, than we may want to consider returning Soriano to 2nd base, and make DeRosa a super sub. I know the Soriano averages at least 20 errors a season at 2nd, but if we are keeping Murton in lineup, it may be the best alternative. I think we will get more out of Murton and Jones at the plate than we will out of DeRosa.
Can you imagine how dangerous the lineup would be if we traded for Crawford and played him in center until Pie is ready to come up, than we move Crawford to right and eith trade Jones or platoon him with Murton.

Soriano
Crawford
Lee
Ramirez
Muron
Jones
Barrett
Izzy (or Lugo)

I like your thinking!!! it definitly creative, and soriano at 2nd is a good idea if we infact hold onto murton and jones and get crawford.. but in order to get him you would have to give up two major league ready position players and a pitching prospect.. Thats like jones or murton, pagan, and veal or maybe more now, heres what i say, Jim wants Sori to be in the outfield, deep derosa at 2nd, trade for crawford, put him in center.. to get him package marshall and jones and maybe pie.. That keeps a lefty in the outfield and he young and also you keep sori in the oufield with murton and basically have the same lineup minus jones!!!

I think the Cubs need to explore two options if they get rid of Jones. If the Cubs land Nixon, he plays right, and Soriano plays left. If the Cubs get Floyd, I believe they platoon in their natural positions in left, and Soriano, who has better range and a better arm needs to play right field. Either way, with Lofton, Noxon, or Floyd, the Cubs need two of these left handed bats in the line-up.
