Bedard traded to the M's. Roberts next??

Update 7:52 on 1-27-08- I am hearing now that the O's will be pushing to trade Roberts soon so they can go into ST with there young team. They are in full rebuilding mode and have been in recent contact with the Cubs. I am hearing a three way trade is in the works that will send Marlon Byrd and Brian Roberts to the Cubs with Texas getting Murton and Marshall and the O's getting Gallagher, Cedeno, Colvin, and Armando Galrraga. This is just what I am hearing. Seems like we are giving up a lot for those two players but getting Roberts and Byrd really help the Cubs.

The O's have traded Bedard to the Mariners for Adam Jones and other prospects. Officials now say that the O's will push hard to trade Roberts before the end of the month. They want to get the best package available for him but wont trade him if they dont feel they get the best deal. It is also said the recent talks with the Cubs could really heat up and there demand for players like Pie may change with the acquisition of Adam Jones. It will be interested on what happens next week. At least we wont hear anymore " Bedard to Cubs" rumors.

The O's can suck our you know what if they want Colvin too. Gallagher, Cedeno, and anyone other than Colvin and Veal, lets do it. If not, lets go for one of the options you mentioned, like Nats F Lopez. None of the other options out there would be as consistent as Roberts, but with DeRo already in the fold, we would just need a part time lefty IF and a guy like Lopez could thrive in that role without feeling pressure because he wouldnt be leaned on heavily over 162 games.

Hey cubsfan82,

are your own sources telling you a 3 way deal is in the works?

+, would we platoon Byrd and Pie in CF because Pie wouldn't be traded in the deal your hearing. Thanks.

I read on another site that W Sox are lookin to deal Brian Anderson to an unnamed NL team and the site writer thinks Cubs might be on the list of suspects.

Does this kid have potential?

BleedingCubbieBlue33.. I am hearing a three way trade is in the works wether it goes through is beyond me but it does make sense. I expect something to happen before the end of the month.

Brian Anderson does have potential but I rather aquire a guy like Bryd rather than him. He is good defensively but offensively I would be concerned about getting him.

According to Ken Rosenthal Bedard deal is off Angelos nixed it. He probably nixed the 7 for 2 that the cubs had. Maybe cubs should talk to a team that has a real general manager, one who can make a deal. Now everone can see why baltimore teams stink. Angelos you are a loser. Nick I
