Cubs Add Starter To the List.

- The Cubs will add a lefty starter to their list of types of players they want to acquire before the deadline. The Cubs are interested in getting both John Grabow and Tom Gorzelanny from the Pirates if Ted Lilly is gone for any time. They have discussed a potential deal that would send both pitchers to the Cubs for 4 minor league ball players. The Cubs also have interest in Freddy Sanchez but do not like OBP so they have not pulled the trigger. Things are getting interesting here.

- The Cubs have a short list of players they are looking for at 2nd base and they include Freddy Sanchez, Mark Teahen, and Chone Figgins.

- The Cubs will make trade for a reliever according to multiple reports.

- There is an "unfound rumor" that Jim Hendry has been in constant contact with the Nationals, Reds, Royals, and Pirates. No word on what the Cubs are eyeing besides previous rumors of Teahen, Phillips, Grabow, and Biemel.

I don't see the cubs making any moves cause Ricketts doesn't own the cubs yet. Gorzelanny only pitched 8 innings this year he's hurt. Grabow and Biemel are no better than what we have in the minors. Marshall becomes a starter and Gaub becomes the lefty RP. For
2B cubs prmote Miles. Just my 2 cents worth.
