Gregg Closer No More....

- It is about time and maybe too late. Pinella just announce that Kevin Gregg is no longer the closer and that the job now belongs to Carlos Marmol (who has been just as inconsistent). Lou also said that the pen roles will be altered some. I think the Cubs need to revamp this pen some this year and sign 2 or 3 relievers next season. I think the Cubs need to call up John Gaub. He is the closer the Cubs need right now.

- It maybe getting two late for the Cubs. They are 6 games out and looking up at a Cardinals team that is not only pitching well but hitting very well. A lot of the Cubs' woes can be blamed on injuries but the rest has to fall on the coaching staff and Jim Hendry for compiling this team of individuals and not teammates. If the Cubs lose anymore I think it is time to clean house, starting with Rothchild and Lou.

Lets Hope for a Turn Around Cub Fans!

Personell is the problem, not the coaches. A team full of individuals is about right I agree. Take a 97 game winning team and mess with it and watch the cardinals go get players. I love it. Maybe someone will wake up.

Can you ask your sources if there was ever any interest for Pudge Rod? I was actually thinking about this before the news broke today that he had been traded to the Rangers for two prospects. He was an option that might have actually fit on the tight budget and an upgrade over Soto at this point.

I think the problem starts at the top. Lets get this ownership situation solved and get rid of hendry. This ownership garbage now has the opportunity to affecting another offseason :(

Is there one chance in hell if this keeps going wrong, real wrong, that Sandberg starts 2010 as the manager??

Cubs pitching is 5th best in the majors. The hitting is 27th out of the 30 teams and the fielding is 25th with 78 errors. Last year the whole team had OBP at .350 or better except for Soriano. This year only Ramirez, Bradley, Fukudome, and Lee have .350 or better.

i agree that John Gaub Should Be called up. but i don't think he has the stuff to be a closer. I think he will take over for John Grabow Next Season.
