*Aramis Ramirez will miss most or all of the Giant series. Aram will be attending a family matter in Dominican Republic but should be back by the Cards/Cubs series. I hope everyting goes well with Aram and his family.
* The Padres are going to be sellers at the deadline and the Cubs have a lot of interest in Greg Maddux and Randy Wolf as their back up plan if they do not get Harden, Burnett, Sabathia, Bedard, or Duchscherer. Not bad backup plans. I just do not see why the Cubs trade for Maddux and a top tier pitcher like Harden, Sabathia, etc.. Maddux will not cost much as for prospects and he would wave his no trade clause to come back to Chicago I think. Especially if their in a pennant race! Murton and mid-level prospect for Maddog seems about right.

Does Maddux's contract run until 2009? I ask because if he is an FA after this season, the Padres know they can get at least one sandwich draft pick, depending on if Maddux is a Type A or B FA.
When the Cubs traded Maddux, they only got Cesar Izturis in return. Unless we can get him on the cheap like that, I prefer to pass on Maddux, even if it means missing out on a second reunion.
When is the Matt Murton project going to be called quits? YUCK!!
I'm tired of watching the triple A Cubs play. We need to get healthy. Jimbo, toss your own salad, boy!!!
EVERYONE NEEDS TO VOTE FOR FUKUDOME FOR ALL STAR!!!
screw this maddog stuff. He is washed up at this point. I feel better about marquis going out there then greg. Focus in on trading for sabathia, bedard, harden, or burnett. I really dont believe we have what it takes to get sabathia or harden, but the mariners are selling low on bedard. Keep our prospects and let them develop (especially Gallagher). Pounce on Sabathia next winter. Also i would love to see us send Murton to the rays for Edwin Jackson.
Maddog is just signed through this season.
