Quick Hits....

- Starlin Castro could be called up soon. They have scouts in AA evaluating him to see if he is ready for the big show. Bruce Levine said he would not be surprised if he is called up in May but a good sign he is on his way if Theriot starts taking grounders at 2nd. Many think he will get the call up to Iowa before he hits the bigs.

- Sweet Lou's comments earlier this week have me wondering if he is a ML manager or just a grumpy old man.

Here is just another one of my crazy thoughts. The reason the cubs are not trading prospects for relief help is, Lee will be gone next year and they will need the kids to trade for Adrian Gonzalez SD's 1B man. Who bats left handed. And would fit nice in the middle of our line-up.

WHO WOULD OF THOUGHT.....
Here it is May 2nd and every cubs starter except Lee and Ramirez are batting .300 or better. The cubs team now is 3rd best in the majors batting average.
WHO WOULD OF THOUGHT..........
Silva and Gorzelanny would join Dempster and have ERA's under 3.00
And with the 3 C's coming, Caridad,
Castro and Cashner we may not be so bad after all.
Just one more thought 2 years ago Samardzija did a great job out of the pen. Then the cubs wanted to make a starter out of him and it did not work. Since he went back to the pen in AAA he has done an excelent job.
