DeRosa to Cards, Teahen on Cubs List?

With Mark DeRosa traded to the Cards yesterday (which burned me bad) and the Cubs are not getting the production they need from Bradley and as well as 2nd base. They will now turn to utility guy Mark Teahen. Teahen has played all over the diamond for the Royals and could be the next best option to DeRosa. Teahen not only would provide power and good defense but versatility because he can play 1st, 2nd, 3rd, some short, and the corner spots in the outfield. Peter Gammons tweeted about this yesterday saying the Cubs as possible suitors.

It is about time the Cubs start shaking things up and making deals. Get on it Jim!

Time to start selling instead of buying. Mark Teahen is not going to turn this team around.

I like players who have a high OBP
last year every player except Soriano had an OBP of 350 or higher. This year only Ramirez, Lee
and Fukudome have 350 or better.
All Cub high priced players have no trade clauses in their contracts
and they don't want to leave this country club atmosphere. Also until the sale which is now Aug. they can't add to the pay roll. So i see them subtracting to get players. Samardzija looked great his last 3 starts. I think Harden gets traded and Samardzija gets called up. I noticed Gaub who is a lefty relief pitcher was promoted to AAA so maybe Marshall starts again. EITHER WAY WE NEED A CHANGE.

Hey Cubsfan82, I love your blog and your updates. However, I think you have a mistake that changes what your saying on this post. You said that the Cubs will NOT turn to Mark Teahen as an option, but then you go on to sound like the Cubs WILL turn to Mark Teahen as an option. Can you clear this up? Thanks!

Cubs are not gonna get anyone with any type of significance, haven't you guys learned? If they get someone it will be a weak attempt that makes no difference. The Cubs don't try to win. They are posers. I've been a Cub fan for the last 23 years and I'm about to either switch or just not have a team. I'm tired of the heartache each year and watching them get rid of they players they shouldn't and sign players that are rediculous. They aren't fooling me anymore.
