We need those chips to land a Roberts or a #2 starter. There are plenty of stop gaps available (we've discussed Lofton, C Patt, etc over and over the last couple weeks) and the Cubs should always look to spend money before prospects. Dont get me wrong... I'm sure Spilly is a quality player... but not worth giving up a young arm. If all it takes is a vet like Demp or Marquis plus a young position kid... I'm ok... otherwise no.<BR/><BR/>I really hope we get Roberts. I'm not too worried bout the back up SS role hole that is created if Cedeno is in the deal. We still got DeRosa . He might not be a great defensive SS, but he can spell The Riot when needed.
