Look what he has done to Ramirez. The guy now runs to 1st base & tries to extend long base hits (did not happen 2 years ago). BELTRAN WOULD BE AWESOME! A switch hitting power hitter that would be more use than this year?? Sounds like a no brainer...assuming you get another solid starter first!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37440895.post-19130361688123462942008-06-18T07:31:00.000-05:002008-06-18T07:31:00.000-05:00Beltran hasn't hit .300 since 2003- His power and ...Beltran hasn't hit .300 since 2003- His power and RBI numbers are way down year over year, too. The days of looking for slugging outfielders is OVER. We need players with good plate discipline, speed and high OBP/average. Beltran is NOT that guy. JIMBO bl*w me. Your living in the steroid days of the past.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37440895.post-24577212271567511552008-06-17T10:26:00.000-05:002008-06-17T10:26:00.000-05:00Beltran is a bad clubhouse guy.Beltran is a bad clubhouse guy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37440895.post-78858674998391349402008-06-16T23:57:00.000-05:002008-06-16T23:57:00.000-05:00Beltran... no thanks.Beltran... no thanks.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00909889581099318748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37440895.post-22582525793572823262008-06-16T23:36:00.000-05:002008-06-16T23:36:00.000-05:00Still would love CC over any of those other option...Still would love CC over any of those other options. Bedard would not be a bad second option though. Carlos Beltran is intriguing though, (agree that another top-tier starter is the #1 priority) if he came for the right price and they ate some of his salary i wouldn't mind him in center. not that Jim or Reed have done a bad job i just think a power/switch hitting center fielder that can go get em' would be nice. i also think he would thrive in our batting order and kill at Wrigley.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37440895.post-86873643207922615922008-06-16T21:09:00.000-05:002008-06-16T21:09:00.000-05:00Rich Harden, when healthy, is a BEAST.Rich Harden, when healthy, is a BEAST.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37440895.post-28960152267765738292008-06-16T19:25:00.000-05:002008-06-16T19:25:00.000-05:0018 million for Beltran, 13 million for Burnett, 11...18 million for Beltran, 13 million for Burnett, 11 million for C.C., 10 million for Maddux. I think Cubs are more in the 5 million range, Harden or Wolf. And since they tryed to get Bedard from Baltimore earlier this year maybe they would pay 7 million for him. Hill will make about 7 more starts before the trading dead line. Lets see what he can do first. Thats my opinion.Nick I Cub Fanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03566720387061284952noreply@blogger.com
